Usgalimal Rock Carvings
These mysterious rock carvings are found in the village of Usgalimal. It is 16km south of Rivona in Sanguem. It was discovered by the villagers in 1993. The carvings date between 20 and 30 thousand years ago from the Upper Paleolithic or Mesolithic eras. The carvings of bulls, spirals and humans are found on the laterite shelves of caves. It is one of the most visited and famous prehistoric sites in western India.
